

What more Hong Kong and Indonesia can do together? At today’s webinar “Resilience in the post-COVID era: Indonesian enterprises to leverage on Hong Kong's leading financial infrastructure” for the Indonesian business community, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau (FSTB) Mr Christopher Hui shared HK’s comparative advantages in doing business, raising fund and talent pool, and introduced the Government’s proof-of-concept subsidy programme for FinTech projects involving GBA and ASEAN markets as well as the subsidies in relation to green finance, #OFC, #REITs and insurance-linked securities #ILSS).
FSDC Board member and Group General Manager and Chief Executive, Hong Kong, HSBC, Ms Diana Cesar suggested that Indonesia is one of most promising markets in the post-pandemic era, while HK is its natural partner in terms of trade, investment and wealth management given its connectivity to the Chinese mainland and other markets. WeLab Founder and Group CEO Mr Simon Loong told Indonesian enterprises the startup’s success story and key lessons to learn in HK via building a highly scalable and transferable business model and working with strong local partners.
