The FSDC Industry Exchange Series of webinars successfully debuted today the launch of the event entitled “Mirror, mirror on the wall, is Hong Kong a private funds domicile for all?".


Distinguished guests shared valuable insights on the latest development and opportunities arising from enhanced regulation of private funds. At the webinar moderated by our executive director Dr Au King-lun, Securities and Futures Commission’s Executive Director of Investment Products Ms Christina Choi, PwC Hong Kong’s Asia Pacific Asset & Wealth Management Tax Leader and China Private Equity Tax Leader Mrs Florence Yip, and Deacon’s Partner and Head of Financial Services Practice Mr Jeremy Lam explained the benefits of open-ended fund companies (OFC) and limited partnership fund (LPF) regimes from perspectives of regulation, taxation, operational efficiency and cost. Their views were echoed by Zeal Asset Management Ltd.’s Chief Executive Officer Mr Franco Ngan who considered OFC and LPF together a major breakthrough which cemented Hong Kong’s position as the regional fund management hub.
