The second Belt and Road Summit concluded on 11 September 2017 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Summit drew more than 3,000 government officials and business leaders from some 50 countries and regions. FSDC was a supporting organisation of the summit and Mrs Laura Cha, Chairman of FSDC chaired the first panel on “Investing in Belt and Road: Dialogue with Policymakers”.  Panel speakers included Edward Yau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the HKSAR Government; Virasakdi Futrakul, Thailand’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Justyna Skrzydło, Poland’s Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Construction, examined their respective economies’ policy landscapes and investment opportunities.


FSDC Council Member Mr Joe Ngai chaired another panel entitled “Sharing by Young Business Leaders on Belt and Road Opportunities”, featured young business leaders from Hong Kong and ASEAN countries, who shared their views on the business opportunities presented by the Initiative. The forum aimed to encourage more start-ups and young entrepreneurs to take part in Belt and Road developments.
