13th Asian Financial Forum

The FSDC hosted a breakfast panel at Asian Financial Forum on 14 January 2020 to examine "Hong Kong’s Changing Role as an Investment Gateway: New Trend, New Generation and New Strategy". Distinguished speakers Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Mr James Lau, FSDC Chairman Mr Laurence Li, and FSDC Board Members Ms Winnie Wong, Mr Andrew Weir and Mr Jim Lai shared their insights into the development of the financial services industry from the perspectives of technology, sustainability, connectivity and talent development. The panel was well attended by nearly 500 attendees.

 

After the panel discussion, FSDC Member Mr Stephen Wong talked to some 100 tertiary students about the prospects and tips for developing a career in the financial services industry. Ms Jessie Lin, Vice President of SenseTime, was also invited to share about how it is like to work in the venture capital sector.
